The subcompact 2022 Encore features a brand new turbocharged engine that gets it a big increase in horsepower and torque. It’s not the only Buick with a changing engine lineup — the sporty Encore GX loses its base engine, so the standard engine is the more powerful three-cylinder that puts out 155 horsepower.
Not much has changed on the compact Envision, but Buick has tweaked the styling options, adding Sapphire Blue to the exterior color options. Special red stitching and logos are available at certain trim levels, and new alloy sport pedals have been added.
The biggest changes this year come in the mid-size Enclave. The 2022 Enclave feels more modern than its predecessor thanks to updated exterior styling and a new center console. It also has expanded safety features, with the Buick Driver Confidence Plus package now standard at the base level.
This package includes Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Blind Spot Monitoring, to name a few. If safety tech is high on your list of necessities in a new SUV, Buick has made them more accessible and affordable than ever.
The GMC Sierra 1500 is the perfect companion for your outdoor adventures. To help you tailor your truck to your active lifestyle, here’s a look at some of our favorite camping accessories for the 2021 Sierra 1500.
Truck bed tents
Instead of pitching your tent on wet, rocky ground, spend a night in your Sierra’s truck bed. There are a variety of easy-to-use truck bed tents, including two-room models, so you and your adventure buddies can have some privacy.
Need to bring along a little more cargo than your Sierra’s bed can carry? Consider an external cargo carrier. There are models that offer ideal storage solutions for everything from clothes to kayaks.
Whether you’ve got a long drive to your destination — or you’d like to have a family movie night in the woods — you can count on the available Rear Seat Infotainment system to keep everyone entertained. It comes with a built-in DVD player, and it can even serve as a monitor for a game console thanks to its HDMI port.
You’ll feel like the king of the road when you’re riding high on a lifted truck — but even with a hefty list of advantages, lifted trucks aren’t for everyone. Here’s what you need to know about lifting your GMC Sierra 1500 or GMC Sierra HD.
How do you lift a truck?
You can lift a truck via modifying its suspension system or by simply lifting its body. A suspension lift will require the replacement and modification of other parts, while a body lift requires minimal additional modification. For maximum height, your truck can be lifted with both methods. Either way, a lift will enable your truck to have a greater ground clearance and accommodate larger, more rugged tires.
Thanks to offering a higher vantage point, you’ll enjoy greater visibility in your lifted GMC Sierra. Lifted trucks are also ideal for adventurous drivers — since your vehicle is taller, it’ll provide better ground clearance and water fording capabilities, so it’s perfect for off-road adventures. Plus, when it’s time to trade in your truck for a new one, you can rest easy knowing that lifted trucks have a great resale value.
If you do a lot of highway driving, a lifted truck probably isn’t for you. When you lift your truck, you’ll diminish its fuel economy, so expect to make more frequent stops at the pump. Plus, those oversized tires aren’t cheap to replace, so be sure to leave extra room in your budget for maintenance. And finally, you’ll have to drive carefully in a lifted truck, since taller vehicles are more prone to rollovers.
Whether you’re driving around the back roads of Shelby County at night or driving through morning fog on your commute to downtown Memphis, strong headlights are essential for maximizing your visibility. Here’s a look at a few handy headlight maintenance tips to help you stay safe on the road.
Restore the headlights
If your car’s headlight casings are looking foggy or yellow instead of crystal clear, it’s time to clean them with a headlight restoration kit. This kit will contain everything you need to sand, wax, and polish your car’s headlight lenses. If you’d rather skip this step, you can always simply buy new headlights.
Replace the bulbs
If your headlights are dim despite clear lenses, it’s probably time for a new set of bulbs. As a general rule, it’s a good idea to replace your car’s exterior lighting bulbs every few years,
Cars with auto-leveling headlights can sometimes suffer from misalignment. You can check the bubble levelers on the top or side of the headlights to see if they’ve slipped out of alignment. If they’re askew, locate the bolts or screws on the sides or back of the headlights, and adjust them accordingly. For more guidance, check your vehicle owner’s manual.
These aren’t the only factors that could impact your car’s headlight strength. A failing battery, faulty wiring, or alternator issues could also be to blame. If your car’s headlights are having trouble, schedule a visit to the Sunrise Buick GMC Covington Pike service center in Memphis, Tennessee.

It boasts 26 miles of walking paths, including many paved, wheelchair- and stroller-accessible routes. You can even load your canoe or kayak onto your Buick Envision and go on a journey down the river.

General Motors is well on the way to going all-electric with exciting new vehicles like the upcoming GMC HUMMER Pickup and HUMMER EV. To ensure that it stays the course, GM reached a new partnership with Controlled Thermal Resources that secures lithium for Ultium battery packs to come.
CTR announced the news in July, saying that it will supply GM with lithium sourced from its Hell’s Kitchen Lithium and Power development at the Salton Sea Geothermal Field in California. The first deliveries of the product should begin in 2024, right as the HUMMER EV2 SUV and Pickup are scheduled to arrive at Sunrise Buick GMC Covington Pike.
“We are very pleased to establish this strategic relationship with GM moving forward,” said Controlled Thermal Resources CEO Rod Colwell. “GM has shown great initiative and a real forward-thinking strategy by securing and localizing a lithium supply chain while also considering the most effective methods to minimize environmental impacts.”
CTR is also committed to sustainability with a near-zero carbon footprint and minimal physical footprint. This ensures that the sourcing of lithium is ethical and doesn’t affect vital ecosystems.
The all-new GMC HUMMER EV Pickup and SUV are just part of what GM has in store in its push for full electrification. Stay tuned for more details on another electric GMC truck that should be coming to Sunrise Buick GMC Covington Pike very soon.
The 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 was set to release this fall with a nice refresh. However, GM is delaying the release of this revamped truck and will now only offer it as a Limited model for the 2022 model year. Take a look at what we know so far.
The 2022 Sierra Limited lineup will likely have the same features and trims as the 2021 Sierra 1500. GM will begin producing the 2022 Sierra Limited in September, which is originally when it was going to produce the refreshed Sierra.
You can still expect the Sierra to get a refresh, but it may not happen until late in the 2022 model year or even in the 2023 model year. The automaker hasn’t yet given a reason for the delay, but it’s likely due to the chip shortage and other issues manufacturers have had to face during the coronavirus pandemic.
The upcoming Sierra 1500 should gain a variety of exciting updates, which GM will announce in detail at a later date. As of now, the automaker has revealed that the truck will gain the innovative Super Cruise™ hands-free driving-assistance feature.
While we wait for the Sierra refresh, be sure to check out the other GMC trucks we have at Sunrise Buick GMC Covington Pike in Memphis, Tennessee, and take one out for a test drive.
The Encore already had just about everything a vehicle owner could want, which is why the Sunrise Buick GMC team was stunned when Buick decided to make the peppy crossover even better. For 2022, the Encore gets a power boost, as well as some additional changes.
The 2022 Buick Encore might not feature the brand-new exterior look available on the model in some countries, but here in the States, this model’s updates are still impressive. According to consumer research organization Kelly Blue Book (KBB), the latest edition of the Encore is set to receive a noteworthy engine upgrade.
While the 2022 Buick Encore will still come standard with a 1.4-liter turbo engine, the feisty powertrain will now deliver 177 lb-ft of torque and 155 horsepower. This is a significant increase from the outgoing model’s 148 lb-ft torque and 138 horsepower rating.
On top of the tweaks under the hood, the Encore did also receive a number of other updates for 2022. The compact crossover adds new map pockets for additional second-row storage as well as an electric heater to help warm you up on brisk Memphis days.
