The subcompact 2022 Encore features a brand new turbocharged engine that gets it a big increase in horsepower and torque. It’s not the only Buick with a changing engine lineup — the sporty Encore GX loses its base engine, so the standard engine is the more powerful three-cylinder that puts out 155 horsepower.
Not much has changed on the compact Envision, but Buick has tweaked the styling options, adding Sapphire Blue to the exterior color options. Special red stitching and logos are available at certain trim levels, and new alloy sport pedals have been added.
The biggest changes this year come in the mid-size Enclave. The 2022 Enclave feels more modern than its predecessor thanks to updated exterior styling and a new center console. It also has expanded safety features, with the Buick Driver Confidence Plus package now standard at the base level.
This package includes Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Blind Spot Monitoring, to name a few. If safety tech is high on your list of necessities in a new SUV, Buick has made them more accessible and affordable than ever.
It’s time to give your Buick Envision a fresh start for the new year. With these convenient accessories, you’ll be able to give your vehicle a more organized interior, a sharper look, and even greater functionality to accommodate your busy lifestyle.
All-weather floor mats
Keep your Envision’s cabin looking fresh with these stylish, premium all-weather floor mats. They’re available for both the first and second rows. Unlike third-party floor mats you’d get at an auto parts store, these custom-made mats are tailored to the shape of your Envision’s interior and designed to fit with its sleek aesthetic.
Smart storage containers
Corral your cargo with an array of helpful Buick-branded organizers. This foldable cargo organizer comes with dividers that let you customize the size of the bins. It even comes with attachment straps that prevent it from sliding around in the back seat. You can also opt for a vertical or horizontal cargo net to corral bulky items, like sporting equipment.
Exterior cargo carriers
Need more than the 52.7 cubic feet of cargo space that your Envision has to offer? Supplement it with an external cargo carrier. The TRANSPORTER COMBI™ Hitch-Mounted Cargo Box by Thule is perfect for carrying additional camping gear or road trip supplies. You can also opt for a variety of hitch-mounted and roof-mounted carriers for bikes, skis, canoes, and paddleboards.
The Encore already had just about everything a vehicle owner could want, which is why the Sunrise Buick GMC team was stunned when Buick decided to make the peppy crossover even better. For 2022, the Encore gets a power boost, as well as some additional changes.
The 2022 Buick Encore might not feature the brand-new exterior look available on the model in some countries, but here in the States, this model’s updates are still impressive. According to consumer research organization Kelly Blue Book (KBB), the latest edition of the Encore is set to receive a noteworthy engine upgrade.
While the 2022 Buick Encore will still come standard with a 1.4-liter turbo engine, the feisty powertrain will now deliver 177 lb-ft of torque and 155 horsepower. This is a significant increase from the outgoing model’s 148 lb-ft torque and 138 horsepower rating.
On top of the tweaks under the hood, the Encore did also receive a number of other updates for 2022. The compact crossover adds new map pockets for additional second-row storage as well as an electric heater to help warm you up on brisk Memphis days.

If you’d like a small SUV for daily commutes and family adventures, the 2021 Buick Encore and Encore GX are two of the best options on the market. To decide which one is right for you, check out the following differences between the two models.
The 2021 Encore gives you the choice between two trims: Encore and Preferred. Front-wheel drive is standard on both, and all-wheel drive is available for the Preferred. Meanwhile, the trim levels of the 2021 Encore GX include Preferred, Select, and Essence. Front-wheel drive also comes standard on these models, but you can also upgrade to all-wheel drive for each.
No matter which trim of the Encore you choose, it features the 138-horsepower 1.4-liter Turbo engine. The Encore GX has two engine options: the 137-horsepower ECOTEC 1.2-liter Turbo and the 155-horsepower ECOTEC 1.3-liter Turbo.
The Encore is the smaller of the two SUVs, coming with 18.8 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the second row and 48.4 cubic feet behind the first row. The Encore GX has 23.5 cubic feet of space with the rear seats up and 50.2 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down. This, among other reasons, is why the Encore GX has a higher price tag.
If you want a more compact and affordable model, consider the Encore. If you want more space, power, and trim choices, select the Encore GX. We proudly offer each SUV at Sunrise Buick GMC at Covington Pike.
If you’re like many tech-obsessed Memphis, TN, residents, you probably rely on your Amazon Alexa to wake you up in the morning, remind you to pick up groceries, and even play your favorite music to get hyped up. Thanks to Amazon’s brand-new partnership with Buick, you can now utilize Alexa’s helpful voice assistance features from the cabin of your car or SUV.
Initially available on the now-retired LaCrosse and Regal sedans, Amazon’s Alexa is offered on the Encore GX, Enclave, and all-new 2021 Envision. The integration is built right into the SUVs without the need to install any additional hardware.
On top of being able to utilize Alexa in Buick’s SUV lineup to get directions, catch up on the latest podcasts, and order coffee hands-free, Alexa now responds to the custom utterance, “Alexa, tell me about Buick SUVs.” This new Alexa skill is the first of its kind for any automaker and provides users with helpful information about Buick’s family of SUVs.
This new Alexa skill is part of a larger multi-channel ad campaign highlighting Alexa integration on Buick vehicles. It isn’t likely to be the last time Buick collaborates with Amazon, as Buick’s Advertising/Media Operations Manager, Kate Hrabovsky, states, “We intend to continue working with Amazon on future initiatives.”

Companies constantly produce advertisements and commercials to compete for consumers’ divided attention. Perhaps no business produces more of these commercials than the automotive industry, and Buick’s “Mistaken Identity” claimed the title of most seen car ad of 2019.
In 2019, the title of most effective ad was earned by Buick with its “Mistaken Identity” television spot.
The ad centered on the concept of Buick vehicles being a lot different than you might expect, especially if you aren’t familiar with the brand’s current lineup. Characters looking for banal people-movers find their expectations subverted when they discover that the Buick in front of them is a lot sportier, more handsome, and more luxurious than they previously imagined.
You can see these reactions for yourself right here.
By the end of 2019, this ad had accumulated roughly 5.7 billion television impressions. Yet, despite these impressive impression metrics, Buick didn’t spend all that much cash compared to competing brands. The cost of producing and distributing the ad only added up to $31.7 million. For comparison, the most expensive car commercial last year cost $60.4 million.
If you’d like to discover just how different Buick’s range of vehicles can be compared to your own expectations, take a trip to Sunrise Buick GMC at Covington Pike to explore our collection of Buick crossovers, SUVs, and cars.
General Motors is adding a three-cylinder engine back into its North American lineup for the first time in almost 20 years. The up-and-coming 2020 Buick Encore GX will be the earliest model to receive this engine.
The first-ever Buick Encore GX will offer both a 1.2-liter and 1.3-liter engine upon its release. Thanks to the engines’ turbochargers and advanced designs, the compact SUV will have a great combination of power and fuel efficiency.
Specifically, the engines will come with an active vacuum system and an electronically driven water pump. They will also have a lighter weight than previous versions, which should allow them to up the ante in terms of fuel economy and help you save money at the gas pump.
GM offers a 1.3-liter engine in Korea that reaches 156 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque. It’s likely that the new 1.3-liter engine for the Encore GX will produce a similar amount of power.
GM has partnered with the Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation to work on the new Ecotec inline-three engine for Buick models in other markets. Now, it’s expected that the latest three-cylinder engines will be produced at the GM plant in Mexico.
The new three-cylinder engine in the 2020 Encore GX will be a welcome addition to the Buick lineup. Visit us at Sunrise Buick GMC at Covington Pike to learn about the other engines available for Buick models.
