The 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 was set to release this fall with a nice refresh. However, GM is delaying the release of this revamped truck and will now only offer it as a Limited model for the 2022 model year. Take a look at what we know so far.
The 2022 Sierra Limited lineup will likely have the same features and trims as the 2021 Sierra 1500. GM will begin producing the 2022 Sierra Limited in September, which is originally when it was going to produce the refreshed Sierra.
You can still expect the Sierra to get a refresh, but it may not happen until late in the 2022 model year or even in the 2023 model year. The automaker hasn’t yet given a reason for the delay, but it’s likely due to the chip shortage and other issues manufacturers have had to face during the coronavirus pandemic.
The upcoming Sierra 1500 should gain a variety of exciting updates, which GM will announce in detail at a later date. As of now, the automaker has revealed that the truck will gain the innovative Super Cruise™ hands-free driving-assistance feature.
While we wait for the Sierra refresh, be sure to check out the other GMC trucks we have at Sunrise Buick GMC Covington Pike in Memphis, Tennessee, and take one out for a test drive.
