If you’d like a small SUV for daily commutes and family adventures, the 2021 Buick Encore and Encore GX are two of the best options on the market. To decide which one is right for you, check out the following differences between the two models.
The 2021 Encore gives you the choice between two trims: Encore and Preferred. Front-wheel drive is standard on both, and all-wheel drive is available for the Preferred. Meanwhile, the trim levels of the 2021 Encore GX include Preferred, Select, and Essence. Front-wheel drive also comes standard on these models, but you can also upgrade to all-wheel drive for each.
No matter which trim of the Encore you choose, it features the 138-horsepower 1.4-liter Turbo engine. The Encore GX has two engine options: the 137-horsepower ECOTEC 1.2-liter Turbo and the 155-horsepower ECOTEC 1.3-liter Turbo.
The Encore is the smaller of the two SUVs, coming with 18.8 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the second row and 48.4 cubic feet behind the first row. The Encore GX has 23.5 cubic feet of space with the rear seats up and 50.2 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down. This, among other reasons, is why the Encore GX has a higher price tag.
If you want a more compact and affordable model, consider the Encore. If you want more space, power, and trim choices, select the Encore GX. We proudly offer each SUV at Sunrise Buick GMC at Covington Pike.
